This month we are back again with the Top 5 Books for the month of August. August is a great time to find a new book to read, whether you’re relaxing on vacation or just looking for a good story to dive into. This month, we’ve picked five fantastic books that are perfect for August. Whether you like thrilling mysteries, heartwarming stories, or captivating adventures, there’s something here for everyone.

Winning the moment by Cody Adent

“If you love to win, you’re going to love this book. Even if you don’t care much about winning, you’ll still love this book.” Success and winning are not two sides of the same coin because success means different things to different people. The author emphasizes the importance of knowing what you want from your life. Classroom learning, if not applied in real life, doesn’t make much sense. Very few people have a unique relationship with winning, while the world is constantly evolving, and you should be prepared to learn and unlearn.

This book serves as a guide on how to maintain work-life balance, lead a happy and contented life, plan your goals, and understand how your mind works. Just as your body needs exercise, your mind needs mental exercise as well.

The book is filled with examples, the author’s experiences, and many success stories. Reading such books regularly helps you stay on track.

Pyjamas are forgiving by Twinkle Khanna

This is my first read by the actor and author, and I was quite amazed by her way of narration.

Anshu, a divorcee in her 30s, is suffering from a sleep disorder. Seeking peace, she ends up at “Santamaya,” a retreat center in Kerala that focuses on physical and mental stability. The center provides a routine to follow while keeping you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, there’s a twist when she encounters her ex-husband and his new wife at the retreat. Old emotions and past experiences resurface, and they seek comfort from each other once again.

In the past, divorce was rare, and despite differences and challenges, couples often stayed together. Today, divorce is more common and accepted, and couples sometimes part ways or choose new partners without nurturing their relationships. Often, this new relationship also loses its spark over time, and by then, it can be too late to realize what’s missing. You’ll find something relevant to this theme in the story.

The narrative will keep you hooked until the end, with a plot, characters, and narration that are all just right.

Becoming A Badass Meditator  by Dr. Renu Khetan

We all cannot deny that, in the busy world we live in, we lead stressful lives. If you want to manage stress better, this book is a great resource.

This book will teach you how to work on your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations during meditation, helping you navigate potential barriers and develop a fulfilling meditation practice.

Sometimes the ideas might seem strange, hard to understand, or even boring, but their long-term impact on your life can be profound. If meditation sounds unfamiliar or confusing to you, this book could help change your life for the better.

The concepts are explained beautifully, with a step-by-step guide on how to start and end your practice. It covers techniques and their relevance, demonstrating how they affect your life.

The book includes real-life examples presented as stories, making it engaging and relatable. The techniques can heal you mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Additionally, the book suggests methods for tracking your progress and continuing your practice effectively.

It’s an excellent resource for beginners. While it may not solve all your problems, it is a valuable guide to help you solve your own issues and offers inspiration to start meditation.

Sex with Next

Talking about sex is a taboo in India. Unfortunately, this has led to a huge population but a reluctance to openly discuss sexual matters. It is often perceived as a male-centric topic, while women are expected to be “good” and refrain from acknowledging their own desires or physical needs.

However, women also have desires and experience them, often in secret. Exploring this book for the first time made me think deeply about these issues. Women can go to great lengths to explore their sexuality outside of marriage.

The book features steamy and entertaining stories of women exploring sex outside of marriage. While it is a fun read, these stories carry a deeper meaning. They highlight how women’s desires are often secondary to societal expectations. Women are frequently seen as epitomes of sacrifice and compromise, living for others while neglecting their own needs. This can lead to a profound sense of loss when their roles change—such as when their husbands pass away and their children become absorbed in their own lives. Many women struggle with depression because they have spent so much of their lives living for others that they no longer know how to live for themselves.

The Somnath Cipher

A history to be read, understood, explored, and shared—this is what the book about the Somnath Temple offers. It delves into the temple’s history and much more. Specifically, the book discusses a hidden treasure and a code that needs to be deciphered to locate it. This code was created by Dr. Nila, and after her death, it falls to Aditya to find the treasure.

The story revolves around a treasure hunt involving several people who face obstacles as well as receive help and guidance from various sources. While the narrative is engaging and entertaining, knowing that it is based on true events adds an extra layer of intrigue and excitement.

This book will certainly ignite a passion for history. If your child loves history, encourage their interest by exploring this subject further—it’s like uncovering your past.

The book offers a glimpse into our rich heritage and culture, demonstrating that our ancestors were highly intelligent and knowledgeable. Grab this book and take pride in being Indian. If you’re not Indian, you’ll still find this book fascinating as it allows you to explore the unknown and unpredictable aspects of history.

Exploring these books offers a unique glimpse into different aspects of life and self-discovery. Whether you’re interested in balancing work and personal life, understanding societal norms, or diving into personal growth, there’s something here for everyone. Each book provides valuable insights, whether it’s through practical advice, emotional storytelling, or historical exploration.
