Lost in Procrastination

If only I had not left it for the last moment,
Regret and sorrow, my heart now tormented.
Time slipped away like sand through my grasp,
Now I’m left with memories, fading so fast.

In the beginning, the task seemed so small,
Yet I postponed, believing I had it all.
Procrastination wrapped its chains around me,
Now I’m trapped in the depths of misery.

As the days ticked by, I fooled myself with lies,
Assured that tomorrow, I’d rise and shine.
But tomorrow never came, it slipped away,
Leaving me here, to face this dismay.

The burden of time, a heavy weight,
Crushed my spirit, sealed my fate.
I wish I could turn back the hands of the clock,
To redo the moments that I let slip and block.

Now the deadline looms, so dark and near,
I’m drowning in regret, consumed by fear.
The chance is gone, the damage is done,
And in my heart, the sadness has won.

If only I had not left it for the last moment,
But alas, I did, and now I lament.
Learn from my tale, don’t make the same mistake,
Seize each opportunity, for your heart’s sake.
