“Jojo Rabbit” is a 2019 satirical black comedy-drama film directed by Taika Waititi. The movie is set in Nazi Germany during World War II and follows the story of a young boy named Jojo Betzler, who has a blind devotion to Hitler and the Nazi Party.
Watching “Jojo Rabbit” was an emotionally impactful experience for me. The movie is a powerful commentary on the dangers of blind nationalism and the importance of empathy and compassion in times of hatred and division.
The character of Jojo is initially presented as a young boy brainwashed by Nazi propaganda, but throughout the movie, we see his beliefs challenged and his worldview transformed by the experiences he goes through.
The themes of love, family, and the power of human connection are at the heart of this movie, and the emotional journey of Jojo and the other characters is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming.
What impacted me the most about this movie was its ability to find humor in the darkest of situations. The movie is both hilarious and devastating, and the contrast between the two creates a powerful emotional impact.
The movie’s climax, which I won’t spoil here, is a beautiful and emotional moment that highlights the movie’s themes and leaves a lasting impact on the viewer.
My Verdict on the movie:
“Jojo Rabbit” is a movie that impacted me deeply with its unique blend of humor and emotion, its powerful commentary on nationalism and empathy, and its heartwarming message of love and family. It is a must-watch for anyone looking for a touching and thought-provoking cinematic experience.

I saw Jojo Rabbit in the cinema when it first came out – it was such a different look and so emotional. I remember being really surprised that a child would have Hitler for his imaginary friend. Very good writing here.
